Welcome to our Reception class. We strive to create a safe, happy, and inspiring start to school life, helping every child develop the skills, confidence, and independence they need to thrive.

    Our Learning

In Reception, children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, which supports their development through a balance of adult-led activities and child-initiated learning. We focus on developing key skills across all areas of learning, helping children to become confident, independent, and enthusiastic learners.

This term, our learning will be centred around exciting topics that encourage curiosity, creativity, and exploration. Through stories, play, hands-on experiences, and outdoor learning, children will develop their communication, language, literacy, mathematical, and social skills.

We believe children learn best through play. Our carefully planned learning environment provides opportunities for children to investigate, create, problem-solve, and discover new interests while building strong foundations for future learning.

    • PE Days: Reception PE day is Tuesday, children should have their full PE kits in school.
    • Library Day: Children will visit the library each week and have the opportunity to borrow and enjoy books at home which you will need to return weekly.
