Maths Ninjas

Maths Ninjas is our scheme to encourage children to learn their times tables.  Each Maths Ninja rank has a coloured wristband that children can earn the right to wear.

 

Every week the children may try a Ninja grading.  Children who get 11 sums correct in less than a minute are awarded the rank of Shodan; 22 sums correct in a minute is worthy of the white wristband and the rank of Nidan; and so on.  Three children in school, Lucia Gonzalez-Odjidja, Caoimhe Rose and Angel Nwokporo have reached the rank of Kudan by correctly answering 99 sums in less than 2 minutes!  Lucia achieved this feat when she was in Year 4.

 

The full rules and examples of the first few tests are given below.

Children in the Infants can join in the fun and may earn the first two Maths Ninja bands with a simpler test that has no multiplying or dividing.  See the examples below.
